Dan was originally trained as a classical clarinet player by Honor
Weatherill and Tony Waddop. As a classical player Danny played clarinet
and bass clarinet with Honors’ orchestra. In conjunction with this Danny
played with clarinet with a Teesside based big band. The conducter of
this band, Kel Dennis, gifted Dan a tenor Saxophone and the real switch
to jazz and commercial music began.
-
With Kel, Danny played in England and throughout Europe on clarinet,
tenor and alto Saxophone at venues including the Millennium dome, RAF
Hendon and Euro-Disney. Whilst studying for a degree in Jazz, popular
and commercial music, Danny worked throughout the north east with
residencies in clubs in Bradford, Sunderland, Newcastle and
Middlesbrough and an annual residency at the Manor Born at the Hardwick
Hall.

After successful completion of the degree course, Danny joined original funk
